Berry Delight

Berry delight …  I don’t think so.

These berries don’t look overly appetizing.

They looked much fresher and more appetizing when they were green.

These berries cannot to be eaten by humans. Have you figured out what kind of berries these are? “Leaves of three, leave them be.” That’s right; they’re poison ivy berries.

These vines grow in a shrubby tangle along the back of our yard. Birds do eat poison ivy berries. They also plant them all over the yard. The berries go in whole. The seeds come out undigested.

Never would have guessed they were poison ivy berries. Didn’t know p.i. had berries. You teach me so much!

  2. Interesting! I’ve searched for and killed many a poison ivy plant but never saw or knew they had berries. Now it makes sense on how easily and quickly it spreads. Thanks!
