A Damselfly

I can’t believe I spotted this tiny damselfly.

Its abdomen looked copper colored in the light. The fake eyespots on the back of its head would sure look convincing to any predator, even though the damselfly measured an inch at the most.

It does not surprise me that you could spot that tiny damselfly. Your eyes search for beauty not only overall but in the teeny tiniest things. Plus, what a photographer! They don’t exactly pose for pictures!

    • I was taking a picture of something else when I saw the damselfly. It’s obvious when a subject wants to be photographed, is ignoring me or doesn’t want photographed at all.

  4. Super shot. It’s tough to see something this small–it’s even tougher to get a good shot. I’ve never seen a damselfly with fake eye spots.
