Resident Groundhog

Buffy didn’t join me last evening when I went out to move rocks from an area I’m redesigning.

To my surprise, the groundhog watched me walk down to the area and allowed me to take a few pictures. I avoided eye contact after that and went on about my business.

It went back under the barn after about five minutes of watching me.

The foxes didn’t return to den under the barn. I’ve only seen one groundhog at a time and assume it’s the only one, instead of a family.

I’ll just have to wait and see.

  3. You got a great shot of him. Usually they run away at the slightest hint of a human. I wonder if he knows that he’s living dangerously-if the foxes return.

    • I haven’t seen the foxes. We’ve had a house move in behind us. Woody shrubby growth blocks most view of the house. It has changed activity some.

  4. Oh, these guys can really make a mess with all of their digging. They undermined a wall just outside our basement one time and caused a huge mudslide from the earth behind the wall. Good luck with them. I think I would prefer to have foxes, but I could be wrong.
